Leica Akademie Workshop
29th March 2025 Geneva
On Saturday morning I was joined by Caroline, Axel, Alwyn, Jean-Michel, Alain, Onno and Jean-Claude at the Leica Store in Geneva for the latest Leica Akademie workshop.
This is the first of two workshops scheduled for Geneva within a couple of weeks. Please check the link here for details on the next workshop (Geneva 12th April 2025).
After a short introduction of ourselves and a little theory we headed out onto the streets to learn how to set up the cameras for street photography. Among many topics we covered range focusing, metering and composition.
Leica Akademie workshop, together
Out shopping
We took our time to investigate how to make images in the varied situations we came across.
At certain times passers by asked us to take photos of them or were happy to have their portraits taken when asked.
The workshop is an ideal environment to learn and build confidence especially on seizing opportunities when they present themselves.
After a busy morning taking lots of photos we headed for lunch at Les Brasseurs near the train station. This was good occasion to share our past experiences and knowledge as well as an well earned meal.
Re-vitalised and ready for the afternoon we further explored the area and a small project was set to start the creative process.
It’s all in the reflection
We finished the day at the Leica Store and had a short post processing session with a few examples.
A rewarding day for everyone and more photos will follow soon. In the meantime please enjoy a few of my images from the workshop.
